Emma & Tim chose a mid-winter’s day for their Byronview Farm Wedding, and what a clever move that was. Winter weddings in Byron Bay are SO GOOD!!  The daytime temperatures are usually around 19-23 degrees, which is perfect “t-shirt weather”.  The nights can get a little chilly (especially if there’s a southerly wind blowing), however that’s nothing a good fluffy coat or cosy fire won’t fix!  Add to this the gorgeous soft light and the perfect timing of sunset just before your “official entrance” into the reception and….. you’ve got a winner.  I’m always surprised that winter weddings aren’t more popular in Byron Bay because they really are just divine.

Emma and Tim first met at high school and grew up in the region.  They chose a Byronview Farm wedding because of the property’s 360 degree views of the ocean and hinterland, which are second to none in the area.   The gorgeous weatherboard cottage and lichen-covered stone walls were also features that attracted them, oozing character and charm and those coastal “Byron Bay Vibes”.  A 1pm ceremony was chosen to allow for ample “party-time”.  Like most couples today, Emma and Tim didn’t want to spend too long with photos so we divided them into two 1/2hr sessions – one shortly after the ceremony with the bridal party, and another at sunset with just the two of them.  With such stunning scenery we didn’t need to go off-site, making both photography sessions relaxed and seamless.

Emma’s gown was made by a family friend, and was lovingly hand-beaded by her Mum and BFF’s!!  Yes it took DAYS!!!  With a super-long veil, cape AND train, it certainly was a show-stopper!  Tim’s luxurious cobalt-blue velvet jacket was also sublime, so soft, tactile and oh-so-dashing!  With her Dad making the arbour, her Mum making the cake and her life-long hairdresser doing her hair, it certainly was a family affair.  Emma thought of every last detail for her wedding, including an amazing box of gifts for Tim to open on the morning of the wedding day.  For the reception set-up however they kept it simple, opting for a canapé style reception to allow for their guests to mingle and socialise throughout the evening.

This gorgeous Byronview Farm wedding was super fun, relaxed, beautiful, elegant, and very uniquely “Emma and Tim”!!  Thank you again guys for inviting me to be a part of your spectacular day, I’ll never forget it!!  x Ann-Louise
